Charging Basket
The scrap charging basket ( material basket) of the electric arc furnace is mainly used for loading and conveying raw materials such as scrap steel into the electric arc furnace for smelting.
The arc furnace basket loads the raw material, such as scrap steel, to the top of the arc furnace through lifting equipment, and then opens the charging basket bottom at a suitable position to allow the scrap to enter the arc furnace for melting.
Characteristic
Shape and material: the charging basket (EAF material basket) of arc furnace is generally of cylindrical structure, and the bottom is of semi-conical structure or spherical bottom conical design, so as to facilitate material falling and realize "center feeding". The material basket is generally made of high-temperature and high-strength metal materials, such as steel.
Components: The scrap charging basket is mainly composed of basket body, basket bottom, hanger, connecting rod opening and closing mechanism, etc. The basket body carries materials. The charging basket bottom is automatically locked and opened by a special device. The hanger is used for hoisting and moving the scrap basket. The connecting rod opening and closing mechanism controls the opening and closing of the scrap basket bottom.
Application
The material basket is widely used in the steel making process of electric arc furnace and is an important part of the batching system of electric arc furnace.
The stability and product quality of the smelting process in the electric arc furnace can be ensured through accurate blending and accurate feeding of the basket.
Capacity Range
The capacity range of the arc furnace scrap charging basket is usually large to accommodate different arc furnace sizes and production requirements. Typical capacity ranges include 3-30m ³ and specifications for 5-50T arc furnaces.
